Industry is one of the main drivers of the European economy
Since the first industrial revolution, industry has been an engine of European prosperity. Industrial development has had a tremendous impact on society, transforming both the way industry produces new products and services and the way we live, work and learn.
Research and technological innovation in industry are essential to create welfare, prosperity and employment. This is why new policy measures to create value from research and innovation are needed to accelerate the green and digital transformation of industry, i.e. to work along the lines of Industry 4.0, and even Industry 5.0, on which work has already started.
Industry, including manufacturing, processing and construction, is one of the main drivers of the European economy. However, investment in R&D&I at European level is much lower than in other world powers.
Therefore, we are facing one of the major objectives of this new period: to invest in research in this sector in order to develop a modern, competitive, sustainable and digital industrial network; to promote innovation in products, processes and technology. At Zattia we have submitted 4,687 proposals in this area and have managed to fund 3,077, with a success rate of almost 70%.
